Chapter: 2 The New Member
As the day went by, over on the other side of town, a large disturbance was going on at the Ivan J. factory. Police were on the scene checking in and outside the building. There are a total of one fifty-nine police cars, and ten ambulance vehicles in front of the building. Lights flashing and sirens going on and off everywhere in the distance. Then, a gray colored police car drives on to the scene and stops near the commotion. Two cops get out of the car. The one that got out on the left side is a gray male Wolf in a gray and gold striped long coat. The one from the right side is a brown female Cat in a gray, gold, and silver long coat. The Wolf pulls out a intercom from inside the car and walks over to the large crowed. He starts to speak through the com.
[The Wolf]
Quiet everyone! I need all of you to clear the area now! Clear out! And that's an order from the Vancin Police Force! If you do not we will have you ALL contained!
The crowd slowly to quickly went there separate ways, and soon the scene was clear of bystanders. The Wolf then turns to the Cat.
[The Wolf]
Chief Werekitty, get the rest of the team to search this area! We need to secure the scene from bystanders and the press!
[Chief Werekitty]
Right.
(Chief Werekitty got out her intercom, turns to the police force behind her and yells through it.)
[Chief Werekitty]
Ok everyone, now I need for all the car numbers from zero to twenty-five to stay on the northern and western side of town. I need cars with numbers from twenty-six to fifty to stay on the eastern and southern side. The rest of you with numbers above that will stay here and investigate the scene.
(All of the police cars went in their given directions. Chief Werekitty turns around and looks at the Wolf.)
[Chief Werekitty]
There you go.
[The Wolf]
Say Werekitty, don't you think that we over did it with the number of police cars?
[Chief Werekitty]
Well Commander Wolf, now that we're at the scene, it really doesn't look THAT bad. But there's nothing wrong with being a little over protective.
[Commander Wolf]
Hum, well that dose seem reasoning. Let's see if the investigators have found anything.
[Chief Werekitty]
Yeah, maybe then we can figure out what's REALLY going on around here.
They then both walk over to the scene. They had to step over and walk under barricades. Once they arrived at the factory entrance, they then slowly walk inside the already opened doors to the factory. Inside, the investigators are looking for evidence. Their looking on the floor, walls, and anything else that may help with the investigation.
[Commander Wolf]
Now what did you all find?
(A gray male rabbit in a black overcoat answers.)
[The Rabbit]
Nothing yet, but we think that the suspect is one of Al La Rosa's members. He would be the type to have someone steal oil from the kegs and trucks.
[Commander Wolf]
Ah, I see. The one we have never been able to catch.
(A tall orange and white male cat with a long brown coat walks up to the scene. He then walks over to Commander Wolf.)
[The Cat] *smiles*
Hi there Erik, or should I say Commander Wolf? I knew I would find you here.
[Commander Wolf]
Why, you looken for me?
[The Cat]
I just wanted to give you back your watch. You left it at the town conference last week.
[Commander Wolf]
Thanks Marvin, and here I thought I lost it!
(Marvin looks at the gray Rabbit that was talking to Commander Wolf a while ago. He then gives the Rabbit a snobbish look. Marvin slowly walks over to the Chief of the investigation. The Chief of the investigation is a white and gray male Dog wearing a long black FBI overcoat. Marvin stops and looks at the Chief dumbfounded.
[Marvin]
Now let me understand why you have a weed muncher here in your group boy?
(The Chief, Rabbit, Chief Werekitty, and the rest of the investigators went in shock. Commander Wolf didn't seem surprised.)
[The Rabbit]
And what do you mean by calling me a weed muncher?
[Marvin]
You know very well what I mean. You Herbivores are nothing but weed munching vermins! You all come over here living off our lands and welfare rights! All of you should still be back in the fields over Delta!
[Rabbit]
I don't have to listen to some big mouth bigot!
[Marvin] *grins*
What cho call me boy? I'll take your weed eating tail outside and teach you a lesson about respecting spices that are far superior to you.
[The Chief]
All right now that's enough! Mayor Lobic, now if you have a problem with my men, I ask that you keep it to yourself!
[Marvin]
You have gone soft! Just like the rest of you so-called Carnivores! You're letting the Herbivores take over our town! General Brick Wall Jackson didn't start the Civil War over Herbivores and Omnivores for nothing! He started the Anti-H&O Clan, and I intend to keep it alive!
[The Chief]
Than you need to get a life! I wouldn't want to be your tail once it's time for your Judgment Day.
[Marvin]
Hurmf! If I had my entire way with being mayor, I would have all of you Herbivores hanged in the streets! This town needs to be cleaned out of the extras!
[The Chief]
I don't know how in the heck you won the election with that attitude.
[Marvin]
Most of my supporters are Carnivores, and even if I needed just one more vote to win, I would rather lose than except a vote from a Herbivore.
[The Chief]
Supporting hate agest Herbivores and Omnivores has always been a bad bet in the past, and it's going to be a bad bet in the future. I'm sorry I even voted for you, I thought that you would be someone that would want to help others.
[Marvin] *grins again*
I help what's right! Now you just get back to your investigation and catch that rat Al La Rosa! He's another reason why Herbivores are nothing but trouble in our society!
(The Rabbit looks at Marvin with angered watery eyes.)
[The Rabbit]
I for one am cheering on Al La Rosa. He's all we've got when it come to power around here!
Marvin runs over to the Rabbit and grabs his neck with his right hand. The Chief runs after him to pull his hand away. Chief Werekitty, Commander Wolf, and all the Herbivores in the investigation group ran over to help. The rest of the Carnivores in the group just stud there. The Chief got there first and pulled Marvin's hand away. The Rabbit fell to the floor motionless. Everybody hovered over the Rabbit's body. The Chief went to his knees and put his hand on the Rabbit's chest. The Chief then looks at Marvin with a treating eyes. He then looks at Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty.
[The Chief]
Arrest this man!
(Commander Wolf stared at Marvin, and frowned and slowly shuck his head sideways.)
[Commander Wolf]
With pleasure.
[Marvin]
You can't arrest me! Way I'm the mayor of this here town! I'll have you charged with assault!
(The Chief looks up at Marvin.)
[The Chief]
You don't get to attempt murder, for that you go to jail. Even Mayors can cross the line, and they must pay the same price like others. Someone get an ambulance over here now!
(One of the investigators then run to the front doors to the factory and yells out to an ambulance site.)
[Investigator]
Hey, we need an ambulance over here! Someone bring a stretcher!
(Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty then garb Marvin by the wrest. Commander Wolf then pulls out a pare of silver colored handcuffs.)
[Commander Wolf]
Put your hands behind your back!
Marvin then slowly did as he was told. Commander Wolf then links the handcuffs on to both of Marvin's wrests. He then yalls to the investigator near him.
[Commander Wolf]
Hold him while we go to help get the ambulance!
The investigator then took Marvin by the cuffs. Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty then runs out of the factory to the ambulance vehicle number #421. The ambulance driver was just now getting out of the vehicle when he heard the call from one of the investigators. He then opens the back door of the ambulance, went in, and pulled out a large silver stretcher. The ambulance driver apears to be a small pink Pig wearing a long white silk coat. He then pulls the stretcher down and runs over to the factory with Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty.
[The Pig]
What happened in there? We have been out here for an hour now.
[Chief Werekitty]
Well, at first we where here to investigate an oil smuggler's act, but now where arresting the mayor for suffocating one of the investigators.
[The Pig]
Why would he do that? I thought the investigators were here to help.
[Chief Werekitty]
They are, but he did it because of the his species.
[The Pig]
What species is he?
[Chief Werekitty]
A Rabbit.
[The Pig]
Oh dear...
(They then reach the opened doors to the factory and rush inside. The Pig then stops next to the Rabbit's bod)
[The Pig]
Is he still alive?
[The Chief]
Yes, but barely.
(The Pig went over to the head of the Rabbit, and Commander Wolf went to the feet. They both then lift the Rabbit up onto the stretcher. The Chief then looks at his comrade.)
[The Chief]
Don't worry, you'll be ok Albert.
(Albert then tries to speak to the commander.)
[Albert]
Ah.. h.... so......
The Pig pulls the stretcher out of the factory, followed by Commander Wolf, Chief Werekitty, and the Chief of the investigation. Once they arrive at the ambulance vehicle, the Pig and Commander Wolf lifts the stretcher and pushes it inside. The Chief then walkes inside with Albert. The Pig then gets inside the ambulance and turns on the sirens. Commoner Wolf and Chief Werekitty then begain to walk over to their police car. The ambulance begins to takes off slowly, but then stops. The Pig then rolls down his window and yells at Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty.
[The Pig]
Aren't you two coming?
[Chief Werekitty]
No Hamton, we need to take care of Marvin! You go on without us! We'll meet you all there once we're done!
[Hamton]
Ok!
The ambulance then drives quickly off to the right down 3rd Street to the eastern side of town. Meanwhile, Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty are just now getting out their sledge hammers from the trunk of their car. The hammers are large and golden with the letters "VPF" written on the handle. They then run back inside the factory where Marvin is still being held by one of the investigators.
[Commander Wolf]
Thanks, we'll take it from here.
(Commander Wolf and Chief Werekitty garbs Marvin by the cuffs and pulls him out of the factory while carrying their hammers.
[Marvin]
I will have you both fired! I will make sure you two never get a job in this town again! Carnivores shouldn't treat other Carnivores this way! You two are making a big mistake! Your letting...
[Commander Wolf]
Shat-up dang it! The more you talk the less we want to have anything to do with you!
(Marvin didn't say a word after that, until they reached the police car.)
[Marvin]
I'm disappointed in you two, putting a Herbivore
over me, the very idea!
Commander Wolf then rolls his eyes. Both him and Chief Werekitty pushes Marvin inside the back seat of the police car. Once Marvin is buckled inside by Chief Werekitty, she then slammes the door shut. Chief Werekiity takes the hammer from Commander Wolf, opens the trunk door, and puts both of the hammers back inside. She then closes the trunk door.
[Chief Werekitty]
Now that we have him in custody, what do we do now?
[Commander Wolf]
Well, we need to get him to the station, but we did come here to get info on the investigation at first.
[Chief Werekitty]
Well, I guess we should take him over to the station then. We really don't need to be here. We can just leave the force here while we're gone.
(Commander Wolf then gets inside the car on the left, Chief Werekitty gets inside on the right. They then drive off to the western side of town down 3rd Street.

Meanwhile, Abel is walking down 14th Street from the Bar he works at from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Abel decided to take a walk down this street because his street is having an investigation of a crime as well. He continued to walk down 14th Street to get to a safe shortcut home, but he has never been down this street before. He soon ends up getting lost on the corner of 14th and 5th Street. He then spotted a Gray male Boar in a light brown coat near him leaning against a light post. Abel then walks up to him.
[Abel]
Excuse me sir, but can you tell me how to get to 12th Street from here?
[The Boar]
Sure pal, take a left on 4th Street, make a right on 8th Street, watch out for muggers on that Street kid. Then make a left on 2nd Street and you should then see 12th Street. Got it?
[Abel]
Ah, sure. Watch out for muggers......... on 8th Street........
[The Boar]
That's right.
[Abel]
Thank you sir.
[The Boar]
Sure thing kid.
(Abel then attempts to walk over to 4th Street, but then the Boar stops him.)
[The Boar]
Say kid, what do you do?
[Abel]
I'm a Bartender at Masie's.
[The Boar] *Mumbles softly*
Hum... the same place Murray goes to to get his whisky. Hum....
[The Boar] *Grins*
Say kid, would you like to work for us at the Ivan Factory?
[Abel]
How much do you pay?
[The Boar]
Hum, about ten dollars an hour.
[Abe;]
That's sounds nice! I only get paid four dollars an hour at my current job.
[The Boar]
Well, your in luck. It just so happens that we have a spot for you in our........... ha ha..., work space.
[Abel]
Great! When do I start?
[The Boar]
Now.....
[Abel]
Err..., ok. Where is it?
[The Boar]
Follow me.
Abel then follows the Boar though a dark ally behind the food store on the corner. They slowly walk down the long ally for seven minutes until they get to a loud brighten area. Abel can hear the sound of loud machines at work over the yard near by. He then sees a rather large Factory with a huge black oil storage named "Ivan J. Company". The the title of the company seems to be familiar to him.
[Abel]
Is this that Company that was on the news today?
[Boar]
News, what did it say?
[Abel]
It said that some smuggler took oil from here. There were cops everywhere the news said.
[The Boar]
Hum.... cherry tops. What's your name kid?
[Abel]
Abel, but what does that have.....
[Boar]
Shhhhh. Come on.
[Abel]
Where are we going?
[The Boar]
Just follow me.
(Abel then follows the Boar across the filed and behind a green railroad boxcar.)
[Able]
What are we doing?
[The Boar]
Shhhh. Come on.
(Abel follows the Boar aside each box and oil car until they got to a large white pump room. The Boar then pulls Abel over to the side of the wall.)
[Abel]
What are you doing?
[The Boar]
You know kid, you ask too many questions. Just come on.
(Abel then slowly goes inside the dark pump room with Boar.)
[The Boar]
Scared kid?
[Abel]
I have seen a lot in my life time, and it takes a lot to scare me. I live on 12th Street, the most crime polluted street in town. Nothing scares me.
[The Boar]
Oh, good. Than you will be perfect for this job.
(The Boar then flicks on a light switch on. The room can now be seen as a large wooden floored and wooden walled. It has five chairs in one corner, a large desk in another, and a great many of oil barrels. The Boar then walks Abel over to one of the wooded chairs.
[The Boar]
Wait here, I'll go talk to the manager.
(The Boar then opens a large black wooden door, walks inside, and the door closes automatically behind him. Abel then sat down in the chair.)
Thirty-six minutes then pasted and Abel is still waiting for the Boar to return. Abel hears a sound of someone walking towards him. The door opens slowly, and the Boar and an orange Fox with a brown trenchcoat walks in. The Fox then looks at Abel.
[The Fox]
Ahhhh!!!!!!
[The Boar]
What?
[The Fox]
Your that Sable that tried to attack me yesterday!
[The Boar]
That's the one that scared you off? Him?
[The Fox]
Well yeah, it was dark and I couldn't figure out what he was.
[The Boar]
You just said that he was the SABLE that tried to attack you yesterday.
[The Fox]
Hah, well.
[The Boar]
Hum.... so your the one that scared one of our bravest men.... You know, at night he would almost be impossible to see. That would have advantages, right Steven?
[Steven]
Right Jack, the Bos....
(Jack then hacks Steven in the stomach.)
[Steven]
I mean the manager.... of........ the joint would love that.
[Jack]
Kid, your going to stay here with us tonight. We'll give you food and everything you'll need. We like you kid.
Jack then snaps his fingers and Steven rushes for some food behind a small dark drown wooden door on the side of the wall behind Jack. He then opens it and pulls out a large silver plat garment of turkey rice, and corn.
[Jack]
See Abel, we'll take care of you, just like brothers.
[Abel] *Smiles*
Why not! I do like the way this place looks, and the food isn't half bad smelling! Of course I'll say!
[Jack]
Great! We already have a room ready for you behind this door.
(Jack then opens a door behind him and a cool mist of air rushes out.
[Jack]
Ha ha, Dry Ice for the summer heat.
[Abel]
Ah.
[Jack]
Go ahead Abel, it's all yours.
Abel then slowly walks inside the cool room with his plat of foos and looks around. The room is just like the main entrance to the pump room, but It's made out of nothing but wood, red wood at that. Abel then looks at his bed. It's a large double sheeted bed with two large pillows to boot. He then puts the plat of food on the bed, sat down, and begins eating his meal. Once he was finished, he then puts the empty plat on a small table near his bed. Abel then throws himself on to the cool feeling bed that suds his fur. He gets under the cover and wraps himself up in the sheets and sighs. He then lays his head to the soft pillow and looks up to the sealing, and closes his eyes and falls asleep with a peaceful last awaken breath.
