Chapter: 6 Desperate Times, Desperate Crimes

*Timeline<<<<

Once Saturday, December 17th came, Ludwig, Abel, and Murray continued to do their usual work in the morning. And for the first time, they were all able to drive their own vehicles at lunch. They went to Stanley's Bar that day and had a grand feast of food celebrating their new way of transportation. As the day went on, Abel met Fifi again at Radar's femilure owned bar. He and Fifi's friendship grew more for each passing day. As for Victor, he may not have been able to go to the game with his friend Peter, but he found out massive information from Jack before he died. As for one of Victor's wounded men, he made a fast recovery at Lee Hospital, with only a slightly damaged rib to spare. Back at the black building, Thorne was able to find a replacement for Jack's loss, a Bear named Lex McCoy. Lex became a born hitman for the gang. Took down fourteen un-payers with little to no evidence. He soon became known to the TC as Hit-and-run McCoy.

[1928]
As the days and weeks went on, more and more news could be read and heard about Germany's conflict with the United States overseas. The Nazis are a political movement—and later a form of government—that's developing in Germany. The are Nazis led by their dictator Adolf Hitler. The power of the Nazi party grew quickly under Hitler's leadership that year, and caused mayor concern about drafting US citizens into the Army. Many where drafted, luckily, drafting didn't come to the state of Utah that year.

[1928 - 1929]
Once Christmas came, Abel was let off for a week's break, which he secretly spent with Fifi. Murray went to parties etc, and Ludwig spent Christmas alone at home eating and reading books by the fireplace. Once it was New Years, celebrating der year 1929, the TC then took up on higher operations on the state. The MK, lead by the God Pigeon, soon took over governments in the state of Nevada. They planed on building a large casino organization in the southern area of the state. Thorne quickly got into the act in February 24th. Once involved, the relationship between the TC and MK grew rapidly.
Abel became a natural when working for Thorne. He successfully completed over six deeds for Thorne in the passed two months. Once March came, He was declared an official member of the TC. Things went very well for Abel, Ludwig, Murray, Thorne, and the entire TC pack that year Until October 24, 1929, when the stock market crashed. From the end of World War I in 1918 the stock market prices kept rising, stock prices plummeted. On that one day, the value of stocks fell fourteen billion dollars. Business started to lay off people. Small stores closed there doors. The lower the money got the more people got laid off. This cased a huge concern to the TC and MK. With money so scarce, their casinos wouldn't be able to make more money then they lose. The TC and MK would have to hold off and cheat on winnings, or steal back the money people have won from them to stay in business. Five days after the out break, Thorne and the God Pigeon organized a meeting at the Hall of Andrews in Junction, just outside of Vancin. A large two story white building with large windows, and many cars parked out front. There, all of the top leaders of the TC and MK where were inside, including Ludwig, Abel, and Murray. The meeting was just about to get underway, Thorne then stud up from he's seat in the large brown coated-white-walled and ceilinged room.

[Thorne]
Quit everyone! We're the edge of claps!

[Voice 1]
No we're not! All we need to do is lower the people's winnings!

[Voice 2]
Not posable! What we need is more time!

[Ludwig]
But time ist what we haven't got!

[Thorne]
Lesion up, this is what we're going to do, see! We're gona steal back some of the winnings!

[Voice 2]
But that would be digging a deeper hole in the problem!

[Thorne]
NOT if they can't identify who did it!

[Voice 2]
Let's not do that again!

(A White and gray male Pigeon in a green striped suit then stands up from his seat.)

[The Pigeon]
*Mumbuls...*

[Voice 1]
The God Pigeons right! We should lesion to Thorne!

[Abel] *Taps on Murray's sholder*
How do they know what he's saying?

[Murray]
I don't know, some do and some don't. If you look closely, you can see that Thorne can't understand him neither.

[Voice 2]
This is going to be risky!

[Thorne] *Slams fist on table*
Who cares! If we don't do this, both the TC AND MK will be finished!

[Voice 3]
The TC and MK are a large organization! How can we possibly fall?

[Thorne]
Believe me, it can happen...

(Thorne then sits back down. So does the God Pigeon.)

[Voice 5]
Anyone else have any comets on the matter?

[Voice 3]
Yes, I do!

(Steven then stands up from his seat.)

[Steven]
What about Taxes?

[Voice 4]
That's something that Capon has to deal with! Why isn't he hear anyway?

[Voice 1]
He's way too busy to come!

[Voice 4]
Ah, hard working man!

[Voice 5]
Is everything settled now?

[God Pigeon]
Mumbles...

[Voice 6]
The God Pigeon says yeah, time to move on to details!

[Voice 5]
All right! Let's make this official!

The meeting continued throughout day and night. They discussed money, taxes, plans for hiding evidence, rising the amount of members used for crimes, and many more. Once it was 2:46 AM, the meeting was about to close on one final agreement.

[Voice 5]
Are we all absolutely sure that we want ten to fifteen members in one organized crime?

[Voice 2]
I agree!

[Voice 7]
Same here!

[Voice 1]
I agree!

[Ludwig]
Ja, sounds fine!

[Voice 5]
The percentage in the room, 98% agree out of 147!

[Voice 8]
I still don't think it's a good idea!

[Thorne]
Does it look like anyone cares! We're doing this, and that's final!

(Thorne then throws out a white sheet of paper at the Fox in the middle of the room from his seat.)

[Thorne]
Hurry up and sign it so we can be on our way!

[The Fox]
Anyone got a pin?

(Thorne then throws a pin at the Fox and it hits him on the head.)

[Thorne]
There! Now sign it!

The Fox then sings the paper at the bottom and writes: "Signed my Frank McNalty from the TC/MK Organization."

Seventeen minutes after that, everyone started leaving the area. Thorne, Ludwig, Abel, and Murray went in their own cars. Since everyone had there own car, it didn't take longer than an hour drive strait home.

-

Once the 25th of October came, (a day which will be remembered by many) Thorne made big plans on taking over parts of the Vancin at the five story black building. He started to tell his plans to Ludwig, Abel, Murray, Steven, Dave, Martin, Mark, and Leo in his office.

[Dave]
What's the plan Boss?

[Thorne]
The plan is, that we take over our town's oil providing company, see. That way, if any oil comes into Vancin, it will have to came to us first!

[Steven]
Brilliant plan Boss, but how are you going to pull off that?

[Thorne]
Simple, we'll just go in and take over at night. No one is going to stop us.

[Murray]
This seems a little too easy...

[Thorne]
Trust me on this one.

[Ludwig]
Which company are we going to take control over?

[Thorne]
The Ivan J. Company.

[Leo]
Yikes Boss, that's a pretty big job!

[Thorne]
No jobs to big for you boys!

[Leo]
Aww, *g* ... thanks Boss.

[Ludwig]
When are we supposed to do this?

[Thorne]
Tonight at 2:00.

[Everyone]
TONIGHT!

[Thorne]
Did I startle?

[Martin]
That's too soon Boss!

[Thorne]
Don't worry, see. I have everything under control.. So, anyone that want's this job, rise your right hand.

(Everyone then slowly rises their right hand.)

[Thorne]
Good... Ok, boys! Today you'll get off early, see, but be back here at 2:00, na!

[Murray]
When you mean we get off early, do you mean now?

[Thorne]
Sure, why not.

[Murray]
All right! Thanks Boss! Your the best!

[Thorne]
I know I am.

(Murray then pushed Ludwig and Abel out of the room as in a hurry to get going.)

[Ludwig]
Relax Murray!

[Murray]
Come on, we're going to have a great time! And this time Ludwig, your coming!

[Ludwig]
Fine...

(Murray then continues to push Ludwig and Abel down to the exit of the building. Once reaching, Ludwig then stops Murray.)

[Ludwig]
Wait, where are we going?

[Murray]
Ah, to the bar?

[Ludwig]
NO! Thorne ist having a big job for tonight, und he doesn't need a drunk Chinchilla trying to pulling it off!

[Abel]
How about the Blue Monkey?

[Ludwig]
That would be nice.

[Abel]
Great, than that's where we well be going.

[Murray]
I don't think I've ever been there before...

[Abel]
Well, then Murray, you don't know what your missing.

(They then walk out the all ready open front door and stop again at the sidewalk.)

[Murray]
Uhh, Ludwig. Why are we about to walk?

[Ludwig]
Heh heh, we can never seem to get out of that habit!

[Murray]
Come on, let's go get our babies!

They walk back inside the building, and go to the building's garage parking lot in the back. The same place were they first got their cars. Once Ludwig openas the door, Murray then rushes in and taps Ludwig's car.

[Murray]
I've got dibs on this one!

[Ludwig]
Are you out of your mind! Get away from it!

[Murray]
Aww, come on Ludwig. Can't I drive your car just once?

[Ludwig]
Murray, we go through this about every day, NO! Why do you want to drive it so badly anyway?

[Murray]
Because I've never driven a car before! Let me just try it out ok?

[Ludwig]
What's wrong with Abel's car?

[Murray]
Nothing, it's just that your car is roomier.

[Ludwig]
No it ist nicht. There's just more back room.

[Murray] *Slowly takes paw off of the car's left side*
Fine then! Come on, let's go!

Murray then rans over to his motorcycle at the edge of the garage and hops on. Abel is already getting into his car, and Ludwig is in his car searching for something on the floor. He then lefts up the rug under the steering wheel.

[Ludwig] *In a whisper voice*
Ah, here it ist.

(Ludwig picks up a golden key from where the rug had lied. The sound of a motorcycle and car starting could then be heard.)

[Ludwig]
Heh heh, Murray has nicht yet to find it.

[Abel] *Looks out his car window,*
Are you ready Ludwig?

[Ludwig]
Ah, ah, yeah. Sure! Just let me start der car!

[Ludwig] *Starts the car and then looks out the car window.*
All right! Who's der leader this time!

[Abel]
Let it be me! I have a short-cut!

[Ludwig]
Lead der way then! But don't attract any cops!

[Abel] *Slowly takes off and waves hand out the car window*
Whatever you say!

Murray follows Abel as he goes under the opening garage door, Ludwig then follows behind him. With Abel in front, they turn to the left and go down 19th Street going about 20 miles per hour. They pass many clubs on the way. The RingJoint, The Roster, The Avery, etc. Once they reach 24th Street, they then make a left. As they are turning, Ludwig spots Minerva on across from him on the sidewalk. He then ducks down until he completely passes her. Once his eyes we back to seeing the road, Ludwig hurries to catch up with Abel and Murray. But as soon as he was starting to catch up, Abel and Murray hit their breaks. Ludwig had forgot during the distraction that the Blue Monkey is only one block down from turning off of 19th Street. He then hits his breaks, stopping to only just miss hitting Murray off his motorcycle.

[Murray]
What are you trying to do, kill me! I'm on your side remember!

[Ludwig]
Sorry Murray, got distracted.

Ludwig then gets out of his car and walks quickly up to Abel and Murray who are standing at the end of the sidewalk. They then walk up the stirs to the large blue colored building.

[Ludwig]
Well, Murray, when you open theses doors, you'll be amazed.

(Just then, twelve gun shots could be heard from across town.)

[Abel]
What was that about!?

[Ludwig]
Ich know their nicht taking over der Ivan J. now!

[Murray]
Think we should go see what's up?

[Ludwig]
Na, we've got about three hours till twelve o'clock. Und that's when Thorne said we'd take over.

They then continue to walk up the stairs passing by everyone else looking into the distance. Once at the right door, Ludwig holds it open. Abel, followed by Murray, and then Ludwig walked in. Once inside, Murray gasps at the site of the many people dancing on the dance floor, the bright blue and white lights on the ceiling, the lovely sound of soft jazz music playing, and --- then noticing that there are only Carnivores inside.

[Murray]
Ah, Ludwig, Abel. Is it ok for me to be here?

[Ludwig]
Sure, as long as we're with ya, nothing ist going to happen.

[Murray]
I hope so. Let's find a table.

(They walk over to an empty table in the middle of the room. There are three empty sets with white napkins in them.)

[Murray]
What's the napkins for?

[Ludwig]
That's just a tradition around this street. It mans that one of us are going to have gut luck in finding a mate.

[Abel]
Ah! Does it work?

[Ludwig]
Nicht that Ich recall.

(They slowly sit down in their seats. Once seated, an orange male Fox in a black und white tux comes to their table.)

[The Fox]
And what can I get for you gentleman?

[Murray]
Nothing, we're just here to kill time.

[The Fox]
Ah, most of you seem to.

[Murray]
What's that's supposed to mean?

[The Fox]
Oh, nothing.

(The Fox then walks away.)

[Murray]
I hate going to all Carnivore places! I'm such an out cast!

[Ludwig]
Well, me und Abel are out cast when going into an all Herbivore's joint.

[Murray]
Your both Carnivores! Your never out of place anywhere in this town!

[Ludwig]
Calm down Murray, we're still here remember. As long as we're here, NOTHING ist going to happen.

[Ludwig] *Taps on the left side of his chest*
Does this gun lie, eh?

[Murray]
Ich guess you ----

(Murray then sees Chief Werekitty about to sit down at the table across from them.)

[Murray]
Yikes! Ludwig, look. It's that cope, the one that soppositely was able to take down Mich in 1927.

[Ludwig]
Just great! Und we can't just up und leave, that would look suspicious. We should just stay here und try to act natural.

[Murray]
Natural? With a cope less then five feet away from us! Now that's not natural Ludwig. We need to get out of here.

(Ludwig looks over to Chief Werekitty. Once she looks back, he then quickly turns around.)

[Ludwig]
This ist bad... Ist she still looking at me?

[Murray]
Nicht only that, but she's coming this way!

[Ludwig]
What does she want!

[Abel]
Not sure, but she's not smiling.

[Ludwig]
Ah ohhh...

(Once Chief Werekitty got to their table, she puts her paw on Ludwig's sholder. He slowly turns and looks her in the face.)

[Ludwig]
Can Ich help you Miss or Mrs. Cat?

[Chief Werekitty]
My last names Werekitty, Miss Werekitty. And what are you three up to?

[Ludwig]
By what do you mean?

[Chief Werekitty]
I've seen the orange one over there before from somewhere...

[Ludwig]
Who, Murray?

[Chief Werekitty]
Yeah..., say, aren't you the one that was drinking at Masie's Bar?

[Murray]
Ah, yeah, why?

[Chief Werekitty]
Because it's illegal that's why.

[Murray]
Since when, I thought that was only in the northern part of the US.

[Chief Werekitty]
Since the prohibition, and since three days ago for this state. I'm afraid you'll have to come with me.

(Ludwig then looks at Murray and gives him a wink.)

[Ludwig]
Ah, say, Miss Werekitty.

[Chief Werekitty]
Yes?

[Ludwig]
Ich just so happen to be a close friend of der detective of Vancin.

[Chief Werekitty]
Is that so?

[Ludwig]
Ja, I'm taking this law breaker to jail. We're just waiting until two o'clock until der trial starts.

[Chief Werekitty]
At two o'clock in the morning!

[Ludwig]
Ja, it's an early trial, for species that are nocturnal.

[Chief Werekitty]
Ah, I see. Any proof that your a friend of detective Victor?

[Ludwig]
Ah, nicht at der moment, but Ich can assure you Ich am once we take him into custody.

[Chief Werekitty]
Who's the other guy?

[Ludwig]
That's Abel, a friend of mine.

[Chief Werekitty]
Ah, ok... Hum...

[Ludwig] *Looks up at Chief Werekitty with a smile*
Miss Werekitty, did anyone ever tell you you have der prettiest eyes?

[Chief Werekitty] *Smiles back*
Ah, no. Thanks for the complement.

[Ludwig]
Heh heh, your very pretty Miss Werekitty. Der eyes don't lie.

[Chief Werekitty]
Aww, your just saying that to get rid of me.

[Ludwig] *Takes Chief Werekitty's paw and genitally rubs it*
No, I'm nicht, you are der prettiest female feline I've ever seen. Your paws are really soft and warm too.

[Chief Werekitty] *Puts paws on hips*
Now what would you see in an overweight feline?

[Ludwig]
You don't look overweight to me. Look just fine to my eyes.

[Chief Werekitty] *Blushes for a second*
What's your name?

[Ludwig]
Ludwig, Ludwig Van Goff.

[Chief Werekitty]
Nice name.

[Ludwig]
Danke.

[Chief Werekitty]
I'll leave you three alone. Apparently the person running things at this table has good teste.

[Ludwig]
Bye Miss Werekitty.

[Abel]
Bye

[Murray]
Good Bye. *Then mumbles* (Good retinas.)

(She then slowly rubs her paw agist Ludwig face, as she walks away, with the sound of her keys clinking together on her waist belt.)

[Murray]
Thank God!

[Able]
That was a close one!

[Ludwig]
Ich know, but it worked.

[Murray]
Your the man Ludwig!

[Ludwig] *Grins*
Correction, der Sable!

[Murray]
Yeah, that too. So what do you want to do now?

[Ludwig]
Ich don't know, Abel told us to come here. Just sit here und talk if posable Ich guess. But Ich know you don't like doing things like that.

[Murray]
Suits me just fine! With that kind of close call, I'd rather do it your way.

They then all agree, and stay where they are. As the music numbers played on stage thoughout the night, Abel and Murray danced with a few on some music numbers as Ludwig sat at the table and watched.

[Ludwig]
Hee, hee... If only Fifi could see this.

-

Meanwhile, Victor is in Miami, Florida on vacation, and taking advantage of their late winter. Staying at the Key West Hotel on the fifth floor in room 375, he begins to make a phone call to Johnathan back in Vancin. As Victor spins the wheel to deal the right number, he walks over to the end of his bed, and takes a seat. The phone rings for seven seconds before there is an answer.

[Johnathan]
Yeah.

[Victor]
Hey Johnathan, this is Victor.

[Johnathan]
Victor! Hey man, haven't heard from you in a while. How's Florida?

[Victor]
Good, good. Look, I need for you to do something for me.

[Johnathan]
Sure, what?

[Victor]
Now I wouldn't ask you this if I wasn't on vacation.

[Johnathan]
What is it Victor?

[Victor]
I need for you to go in my office and look for a file document on a Duncan S. Weight.

[Johnathan]
Sure thing, is he another suspect of the TC, or MK?

[Victor]
Both, he's a meeting organizer for crime organized gangs. And I'm sure he's going to attempted to bring the big three together.

[Johnathan]
Big three?

[Victor]
Thorne Al La Rosa, The God pigeon, and Al Capone.

[Johnathan]
Good God!

[Victor]
Yeah, so I'm counting on you.

[Johnathan]
No problem, I'll get right on it.

[Victor]
Good man.

Victor slowly puts the phone back on the hook. As Victor sat in his bed, he reaches over to turn on a small black radio box next to him. The radio came on with static, but soon clears. A voice then begins to come though the side radio vents.

President Herbert Hoover: own industries by raising tariffs on imported goods. The depression causing some nations to change their leader, and their type of government. The poor economic conditions of these times are leding to the rise of the German dictator Adolf Hitler, and to the Japanese invaing China. The German people support Hitler because his plans to make Germany a world leader, gives them the hope for improved conditions. The Japanese is developing industries and mines in Manchuria, a region of China, and claiming it's economic growth, will relieve the depression in Japan. The militarism of the Germans and the Japanese are helpe bringing on World War II. Nations are increasing their production of war materials, this increased level of production will provided many jobs and put large amounts of money back into circulation. There have been many bank failures as of late, together with low incomes among farmers and factory workers. Uneven distribution of income among workers also contribute to the outcome. Most economists agree that the stock market crashed because of this event. I myself believe so. I also believe that business, if left alone to operate without government supervision, will correct the economic conditions. I will vote for several bills aimed at relieving the depression, I feel they give the federal government too much power. And should be stopped. I declared that state and local governments should provide relief to the needy. The government agency will provided some relief by lending money to banks, railroads, and other large institutions whose failure will make the depression worse than it is.

Announcer: So that's what President Herbert Hoover had to say today about this crisis. There are still, many, who don't think the President is doing enough, to stop the downfall. Back in Germany, the party of...

[Victor] *Turns off the radio*
Ah, I'm on vacation. This stuff can wait.

(He then lays down in his bed and puts his hat over his face.)

[Victor] *Slowly talks to self*
I'm going to need some help with this... And I think I know just were to get it...

And on that thought, he falls asleep where he lays. Not long after, loud snoring noises could be heard coming from his hotel room. The person next-door soon came out of his room and bands on Victor's door. Wearing a long black overcoat the gray Armadillo is, as he stands to await Victor's approach. Victor then opens the door.

[Victor]
Yes, who are you?

[The Armadillo] *Frowns*
My names Kenneth Burns, I'm staying in the room next door. Your snoring is keeping me awake.

[Victor] *Mild grin*
Oh, heh, heh, heh..., sorry about that. Won't happen again, good night.

[The Armadillo]
Oh, and one more thing, you really needen to act so...

[Victor]
Good night!

[Victor] *Slams the door*
Arg! You can't even be on vacation without hearing someone's mouth about THINGS THAT ARE LITTLE TO NO CONCERN TO ME! I've been working my butt off trying to crack this case! *slams fist on the table and starts to breath slowly* I, need, to relax... I'm not acting like myself.

He then reaches over to the table and picks up a cigarette, puts it in his mouth, and lights it with his silver cigarette lighter. Takes a puff, and then lays back in bed. A few minutes went by before Victor was becoming restless again. He put his cigarette out in the ashtray on the table, and fell asleep soon afterwards.

Back in Vancin, on 3rd Street. There's a crowed of black cars park a few 1000 feet away from the Ivan J. Company from the eastern side of the street. The darkness of the street made them hard to see. Some are standing outside of their cars, and some are inside gazing at the air, as if looking for something, or someone in the area. The car in the front on the left side of the street then began to flash it's lights in a mors code like manner. Another black car then came running at top speed down the middle of the street, passing all the cars to the side. Someone then throw out a letter just before passing the last car. As soon as the letter hit the ground, the car is no where in site. A shadowy figure in a long black coat who appears to be Steven, then walks over to pick up the letter. He then walks back and puts it though a crack in the window of the 3rd car in line from the left. White smoke then rises from the crack and into the air.

[A voice from inside the car]
It's almost time. Where's Murray, Ludwig and Abel?

[Steven]
Give them time Boss, it's only one fourty-six.

[Thorne]
Well, see, THEY SHOULD BE HERE ANYWAY!

[Steven]
Just give them a few more minutes Boss. You did tell them, and everyone else in the room to be here at... Wait! You told them to meet back at your building, not here on the streets!

[Thorne]
Heh heh, trust me, see. They'll know where we are once they get there. The guards will tell them we're here. Too bad we had to change the plans around. They should have been in closer range. But if we wanted to find them, we could. If they went somewhere, and Murray was leading the way, they would probably be all over town, and even get back late! If Ludwig was leading the way, they wouldn't have went anywhere. Now I don't know about Abel see. Haven't yet to really understand his strategy.

[Steven]
Maybe he's a party animal like Murray?

[Thorne]
He'd better not be, see! Are there's going to be some changes around here.

(Thorne then begins to open the letter that Steven handed him with a knife he got from his pocket. Once open, he then quickly pulls that letter out and starts reading it.)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To Mr. La Rosa,-------------------------------------------------------------------------

00We have secured the building from all sides, the quickest way to enter the heart of the company is to go through the main entrance. That's just strait ahead. Your protection is high inside and out. Once you enter, have your men start bringing in the oil trucks and unloading the drums to the back. We will settle business from there.

Avis,----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Thorne] *Talking while still looking at the paper*
Well, ya hear that Steven, guess this is it. Where are our trucks?

[Steven]
Oh, there back there, somewhere... They'll be hear shortly once we get in.

[Thorne]
But there supposed to be here as soon as we get to the entrance!

[Steven]
Don't worry Boss, everything will go according to plan.

[Thorne]
But this isn't our plan! It was changed remember! Ludwig, Abel and Murray could tell ya that! If they where hear that is!

[Steven]
They will be, just give them time.

[Thorne] *Frowns*
Huf!

As time ticked by, every member of the TC could feel the slight tension of pressure. A feeling as if it was their Judgment Day. A seceded and live, or fail and die operation.

Back at the Blue Monkey, it was anything but tense. Ludwig and Murray were slightly falling asleep at their table while Abel still is dancing out in the open.

[Murray] *Puts paw on face*
How can he dance for so long? And by himself at that...

[Ludwig] *Sighs*
Ich don't know... But Ich sure am getting tired of seeing Abel's footwork.

[Murray]
Same here.

(Ludwig then reaches in his vest pocket and pulls out his golden pocket watch. He pops it open and looks at the time.)

[Ludwig]
Ahhh... one-fifty-six AM... ONE-FIFTY-SIX!!!! Murray, we've got to get out of here! We're late!

[Murray] *Looks puzzled*
Late? Late for what?

[Ludwig]
Der (stops and lowers his voice) Der Ivan J. thing remember...?

[Murray] *Blankesh look*
Boy are we in trouble...

[Ludwig]
Nicht yet, we can still make it if we hurry.

(Ludwig and Murray quickly get up from their seats and walk over to the dancing Sable. Ludwig pulls Abel's blue suit tie with his right hand up to his face.)

[Abel] *Lightly smiles*
Hey! What's the problem Ludwig... Murray? Why aren't yall dancing?

[Ludwig]
Look Abel, there's something more important about to happen than der next song number.

[Abel]
Like what?

(Murray walks towards the exit door with Ludwig close behind pulling Abel by his tie.)

[Ludwig]
I'll tell you when we're outside, now follow me.

[Abel]
What, do I have a choice?

While Ludwig continued to pull Abel to the front door, Murray was already there holding it open for them. Murray, with a look as if he was being treated with a gun, stud there shaking the door handle back and forth. Once Ludwig pulls Abel out the door, Murray then runs ahead of them to get on his motorcycle.

[Ludwig] *Rises eyebrow*
Calm down Murray! You know Thorne hates us to act weak.

[Murray] *Gets on his motorcycle and looks over at Ludwig and Abel*
Who's acting!? Hurry up and get in your cars!

[Abel] *Talks lightly to self*
Oh, I see now... That Ivan J. thing. Eck.

Ludwig let's go of Abel's tie, Abel then runs to his car. Ludwig soon does the same. Once they start their car engines, Murray then takes off making a "U" turn, and turning right down 19th Street leaving them behind. Abel pulls off at top speed. Nearly turning over his car as he made a two wheele making a "U" turn. He soon disappeares making a right down 19th Street.

[Ludwig]
Hum... Guess we're going solo. *Sigh* Oh well...

Ludwig then gently turns his car around just in time to see Abel make a right turn down 19th Street. Ludwig attempts to pick up speed in the prosuit Abel, prosuiting Murray. Abel, about a thousand feet away from Murray, starts to pick up speed. Making all the papers on the streets fly into the air as he passes. He looks in his rear view mirror to see Ludwig's bright head lights just turning the corner.

Meanwhile, Murray is already about to stop at Thorne's hideout. (Or the TC's hideout, whatever you readers like to call it.) Murray hits his breaks and starts to slid a few feet before coming to a dead stop. He gets off his motorcycle and runs up to the front door. Once up the stairs and to the doors, Murray tries to open them, but there locked. He tries the exit door, but they are also looked.

[Murray] *Bangs on the doors*
Let me in! What is this, heh!?

(The door then slowly opens, Arnold steps out, stops, and looks down at Murray.)

[Arnold]
Vat to you vant Murray?

[Murray]
Let me in! Haven't you heard that there's a big job being pulled tonight! I'm late enough as it is!

[Arnold]
Vell Murray, no vones here but me.

[Murray]
What! Where are they!?

[Arnold]
Vell, haven't YOU heard that there over on 3rd Street about to pull vat big job?

[Murray]
Huh? They didn't tell me that they changed the plans!

[Arnold]
Der only reason why I'm still here, ist because I'm guarding der place.

[Arnold] *Pokes Murray's nose with his finger*
Und you are one dead dude.

[Murray] *Gulps*

(Just then, Abel drives up reducing his speed and stops behind Murray's motorcycle. He then opens his car door, quickly gets out, and slams it shut.)

[Abel]
What's the big idea leaving us behind like that!?

[Murray]
You two where going TOO slow! Looks like you left something behind as well.

[Abel]
He IS going too slow! He'll be here in about a minute. *Looks around* Humm... doesn't look like all your speeding did much good. Why are you just standing out here?

[Murray]
Because Arnold here says that everyone's gone. There already on 3rd Street.

[Arnold]
They've probably already taken control of der company now.

[Abel]
This is bad...

[Arnold]
Ja, you two need to...

[Arnold] *Looks down 19th Street to see a car coming their way*
Who ist vat?

[Abel] *Snickers*
That happens to be our other German.

[Arnold]
Ah, Ludwig ja!

[Murray]
Yup, that's him all right.

(Ludwig then gets close enough to where his license plat ID "LVG81" could be clearly seen. He comes to a stop behind Abel's car. Instead of getting out, he rolls down his passenger side window and looks at the three standing in front of the building.)

[Ludwig]
What are you two doing!? Oh, Guten there Arnold!

[Arnold]
Guten!

[Murray]
Well Ludwig, everyone's gone. There all over on 3rd Street, probably already taken over the company.

[Ludwig] *Frowns*
Ich don't believe it! Come on und let's make a run for it! Or have to two gone lejet?

[Murray] *Looks innocent*
What! No, not me! I'm still a mobster! A scared mobster, but a mobster none of the less!

[Ludwig]
Well you stop being so afraid of Thorne! He's nicht going to harm you!

[Arnold]
Oh, but Murray has every right to be afraid of der Boss. He gets real mad when someones late.

[Ludwig]
Oh yeah, well see. Come on yous two, LET'S GO!

Abel and Murray then run over to their vehicles. With their engines still running, they where able to automatically drive around. But this time, Ludwig is the one leaving them. He'd already turned around and is heading for 3th Street. Murray, followed by Abel, then track Ludwig as they race down the wet streets.

Back on 3rd Street, Steven is still standing out on the streets waiting on the signal to start moving in. Thorne, on the other hand, continues to sit in the back seat of his car and awaits the appropriate time to instruct the gang to make their move.

[Thorne] *Looks at his pocket watch*
It's almost time boys... Just a few more minutes...

[Steven]
What about Ludwig Abel, and Mur...

[Thorne]
ErrrrRRRRRR! Forget about them, see! We can do this without their assistance *Deep voice* But once I get my paws on them for this it'll be too soon...

Then, a roaring sound that soon fills the air starts to emerge for out of nowhere. The sound gently shacks the ground as it get closer. Steven runs over to the left side of Thorne's car from the front, while pulling a small pistil like gun out of his coat. The rest of the gang did the same. Soon, 3rd Street turns into a mob fortress. The roaring sound then levels into a thin engine like sound. It evaporates three times as it come closer.

[Steven] *Holds up his gun over Thorne's car*
Sounds like a car's coming Boss!

[Thorne] *Ducks down*
Na, get ready! This could be trouble!

(As soon as a car became visible, the sound of guns clicking could be heard. As the car gets closer, someone shouts out to Thorne.)

[Someone]
Boss, it's one of our men!

(Thorne gets up from his car floor and looks out his back window.)

[Thorne]
Ea... that could be those good for nothing three...

[Steven]
But in one car Boss?

[Thorne]
Ya, your right, keep your eyes on it.

The car begins to slow down and slowly comes to a halt behind the last car in line to the left. The door opens, and a tall figure (too dark to see it's face) steps out onto the sidewalk.

[The Figure]
Sorry I'm late, got er... caught up for a while.

[Thorne]
I'd know that voice anywhere! That's Ludwig!

[Steven]
Heh, heh, your right Boss.

[Thorne]
Heh, yeah well... he'd better have a better reason for being late than 'Ich got caught up for a while.' And I can still hear more cars coming.

[Steven]
That maybe just Abel and Murray Boss.

(Steven gets up 'from nearly being under Thorne's car' to greet Ludwig.)

[Steven] *Smiles*
Hi Ludwig, the Boss been lookin for ya.

[Ludwig]
Ich know... Where ist he?

[Steven]
Just three parked cars ahead. Where's Abel and Murray? Is that them I hear in the distance?

[Ludwig]
Yup.

A car and a motorcycle then appear from the back of the pack. There driving side by side as they slowly come to a stop behind a car on their own side of the road. A (Too dark to see) figure on the left side then opens the car door and steps out onto the sidewalk. Steven yells out to them.

[Steven]
Stay in your cars!

(He then jumps back in his car.)

[Thorne]
Not so loud! You want everyone to hear us?

[Steven]
No Boss, sorry Boss. It's just that, that was the only way I could get his attention.

[Thorne]
Arg! Ok, was that Abel, or Murray?

[Steven]
Murray has the motorcycle remember?

[Thorne]
Ahh... so it's Abel. Tell everyone to get ready. We're about to move in.

[Steven]
Ok, Boss.

Steven walks up to each parked car in the area, giving out the word of the time near. It only took him a few minutes to inform the left side, he then continued to the right side of parked cars. Once the word was out, Thorne's driver slowly drives the car to the left side of the street. They keep moving at a slow easy pace going east down 3rd Street. A car from the back of the right side of cars then quickly pulls out into the middle of the street. The car then slows down behind Thorne's car and takes the same pace speed. Another car from the back, this time, on the left side does the same. This time, follows behind the car behind Thorne's. The rest of the cars then began to move slowly down the street, staying in their same positions, as some heal out tommy guns pointing to the sidewalk floor as they look in allies between buildings. The car way ahead that was flashing it's lights at the pack then slowly turns in reverse around the corner to the left. Disappearing from sight. As the cars got closer to the Ivan J. Company, a truck then became visible coming towards them. It started off slow, then picked up speed. The mob didn't seem worried, they continued to drive as if unaware of the truck coming. Since the truck is moving at such high speed, it got to the Ivan J. Company grounds first. Once it did, the truck hit it's breaks, sliding about seven feet before it came to a stop in front of the company's main entrance on the left side of the mob. The car that had backed out of sight then moved forward again at top speed. Soon hitting it's breaks and sliding five feet before it came to halt behind the truck. The three cars to the right side that had left the rest of the pack then came to a stop right across from the truck. Seven men quickly run out from inside the building. Some had guns, and some had dollies. The ones with guns stayed and guarded the area, the ones with dollies continued to run up to the vehicles parked in the street. They passed up all the cars and went strait for the back of the truck. One of the men who appears to be a brownish mid size Dog, then drops his dolly and unlatches the hook on the truck's door handle. He then flings it open and pulls down a large steal ramp from under the truck. He then drops the ramp on the ground, picks back up his dolly, and walks up the ramp with it to get inside the truck. Inside, the truck is filled with drums of oil. Some larger then others, some rusted, and some badly dented. All seating on a dusty old wooden floor nailed together. The Dog then sits his dolly up, and slides the oil drum onto in. He then pulls the dolly back down the ramp and heads back towards the main entrance on the company. He disappears from sight. The others, with the dollies, then do the same. Some pulled their dollies up the ramp, and with a lack of dollies, some, of couples picked up a drum together, and walked down the ramp and back inside the building.

Picture of scene

Thorne, after waiting to be escorted inside, got out of his car, and was met by his guards, along with Ludwig, Abel, and Murray. They all walk up to the main entrance of the building, passing those pulling dollies on their way. Once they got to the front seven doors, one of the guards then held the door open for the rest behind him. Once they walk inside the building, the guard then closes the door with him on the other side of it. Inside the building, it is cool, and calm. With only the sounds on dollies rolling across the floor. The walls, (hanged with old company pictures of company owners from the past) are light sky blue colored. The sealing, is compress with air-conditioning vents that on at mid speed with heating on. Doesn't help with keeping the building warm with the doors constantly being opened by the men going in and out with the dollies. They continued to be escorted around the corridors of each hallway. Some wide, some narrow. Ludwig, Abel, and Murray continued to look down the hallways that would extended out away from them. While still walking with the group, they would look at pictures, plants, fur made water falls, statues, etc. Thorne, on the other hand while smoking his cigar, just kept his eyes on what's ahead. So did the guards. Once they came to a rather large door at the end of the hallway, two men in suits carrying briefcases, (one Wolf, and one Fox) then open the door inviting them in. Once they walked inside, the room is large, white walled, with antic items on the many book selves around them. Some gold, some silver, some bronzes, and some just made out of wood. There are many chairs in the room, some being used, some not. The main desk in the room is being occupied by a rather tall looking white Rabbit in a white pin-stripped suit. Thorne, Ludwig, Abel, and Murray then sat down in the seats that are unoccupied by others. The guards just stand behind them keeping an eye on everyone else in the room. The white Rabbit then stands up from his seat.

[The Rabbit]
All right gentleman, let's start this.
