Order of van Göff - The Anthro Cross |
35KB |
I designed the The Anthro Cross with maltese design. The cross is made of gold (gold parts) and enamel (blue parts). In the center the "L" stands for "Ludwig". You can't see the text, but inside the white circle at the lower half are the words "für die brut der sables". Which stands for "for the breed of the sables".
At the top of the circle are the words "Ludwig van Göff". On the left and right side of the upper cross are two golden Sables. On the left is Abel and the right is Ludwig. The medal itself in size is about 7cm in height, 6cm in width; and only 0.5cm thick. The crown is a hollow oval, where the top of the cross connects inside.

Order of Hearthwin Grand Cross - Lands & Seas |
40KB |
Redwall based. This is the Order of Hearthwin Grand Cross - Lands & Seas medal. It is mostly rewarded to the otters, shrews and rats of Glenscar, for service on both land and sea. It is a reward that is given to both the horde and civilians.
Design: My fiction story about Fort Glenscar has not much other than a story; but I like to add little things here and there to maintain the interest. So I desided to design this award cross for my story.
The cross is made of gold (gold parts) and enamel (green parts). The crown stands itself as a royal order cross. In the center, a purple stripe separates a painting of land (upper right) and sea (lower left). Two javelins (a favorite weapon by many otters) then completes the medal by going across the back. The medal itself in size is about 10cm in height, 6cm in width; and only 0.5cm thick. The crown is a hollow oval, where the top of the cross connects inside.

The Skeleton Pocket Watch with Medal Fob Project |
40KB |
I bought this wind-up skeleton pocket watch a few weeks for wear, (I'm not a wrist watch person). While waiting for it, I decided to buy a watch fob to go with it. The fob can be anything, from a jewel, locket, medal, pendent, or a simple initial. Since I like historic orders, I thought the reproduction Bavarian Militär-Max Joseph Orden Knight's cross (1806) would make a nice touch. I later changed the chain... and a few things extra. It took a few weeks, but watch set is finished now. It was fun to make, but I'm glad it's done.
The chain that came with it was either gold plated, or gold filled; which of course, tarnishes over a short period of time. I didn't need solid gold, just something that wouldn't tarnish, and matches the watch and fob.
I bought this chain made of french brass to replace it. I went through the same steps of cutting and resizing it as I did the old chain. I was very scared of messing it up to say the least (since the chain wasn't cheap); but it turned out well. There was quite a bit left over, so I made the rest into the bracelet you see on the upper right. I gave it to someone close to me so we'd have a matching set. The gold plated rings that were used to connect the old chain to the watch/fob/t-bar, was replaced using leftover rings from the new chain; and were double looped for extra strength.
In the lower left corner is the proper T-bar I had been searching for. I had hell trying to find one of those, even within the vastness of eBay.
The Bavarian Militär-Max Joseph Orden Knight's cross is now double sided. I bought another cross and used metal adhesive to bond the two together. Before I did this, it seemed no matter what I did, the cross would almost always rest backwards and the plain side would show. Just seems to be one of life's laws.
In the end, the whole watch is made of five separately bought parts. Plus one bracelet from the leftovers. ^_^
