The Truck Station: A One Level Station Turned Into a 3-Level Parking Garage

Station

The Station Before

Paying more attention to my room I got tired of having my collection of models placed on the floor in the open; lined up against the wall. It looked fine at first, though later it started to look tacky to me; having trucks just about in a victorian styled room. This way it looks neater, yet more interesting; and making power lines added a more realsitc flavor to the scene I was going for - a station.

The lights are controlled by a railroad transformer that's plugged into the wall; while electricity flows from it to the cables. It is safe the way I built it. The lights can be adjusted as dim or as bright as I want, and can stay on all night and day as they do. Best part is in the end the station hardly took up much space.

During The Construction of the New Garage

Over time, I kept buying trucks and trailers and needed more space; so I built two more levels. I needed to put trucks at the top while building it so the pillars wouldn't move while I was tightening the electric wires. The power lines also needed to be moved. These are some before and after pictures.

Complete

After all that I gained six free parking spaces.

Praxair Tube Trailer/w Added Lift Axle

Trailer

This is a replica of a tube trailer; which hauls compressed gas such as Helium, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen and CNG.

Shafter Combo ISO Tank Chassis with ISO Tanks

Trailer

I was up all night building this thing and it came out better than any of my other trailer ideas. I was introduced to a new product I could use in place of super glue; and it's even stronger. It's call 'Sticky Putty'. This came out as a very neat homemade addition; the looks of intermodal right from the ship channel.

The crates are just made of cardboard, so they aren't that great of a sight. The ISO tanks 'AFC Industries LLC' and 'Universal Compression' are made of cans; they were just the right scale. The trailer chassis works with single or double load.

Converter Dolly

Dolly

Information

This dolly has metal safety chains, support leg, flexible mud flaps and electric wires. The dolly's paint looks kind of beat-up cause it's been pulled by r/c trucks quite a bit since I made it.

Covered Wagon Trailer

Trailer

Information

A covered wagon trailer I made using the basic flatdeck.

Freightliner Century Class Motor Coach

Truck

Information

This is a little model I put together just to have something different in the fleet. It has a few ruff spots here and there, but I'll leave it as it is. It 'did' come out looking like a motor coach surprisingly. Before I added the paint and chrome it looked more like a U-Haul. *lol*
